FTC Q&A

Q: When Does Registration Open?
A:  Registration will open state-wide on August 17, 2022.  Registration for both in person and remote game play will remain open until closed by the Area Coordinator or January 1, 2023; whichever comes first.
Q: Are all areas / regions doing League Play?
A:  Yes. This season, all areas of Texas are all using the league format.
Q:  Who Decides Which League I am On?
A:  Your Area Coordinator will be assigning your team to a league this season. If you have a preferred league, please contact them (form on this page)
Q:  Who Decides About Advancement This Season?
A:  We have implemented a process that ensures all advancement has a two-tier review that is conducted by FIRST in Texas staff to ensure the most equitable and inclusive delivery that removes any perceived or actual bias. All advancement is done via the FIRST Tech Challenge Official Advancement criteria.
Q: Is There Going to be an Official FTC State Championship?
A:  Yes, all areas across Texas will be advancing from “Regionals” to the FIRST in Texas FTC State Championship in Houston. To read more about this model of play, please see this page.
